About this event

The New York Chapter of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (NYIAEE) is proud to announce Mike Ruberry as the 2022 recipient of the King’s Glove Award. With 40 years in the exhibitions and events industry, Mike played a variety of key roles, including several positions with United Expositions Service Co. (later GES) in Chicago, 16 years as Vice President of Operations for George Little Management in White Plains, NY (GLM became Emerald Expositions in 2014), a return to the general contractor side of the industry as Vice President, Industry Relations, and a position as an executive team member of the Javits Center in the role of Vice President, Set-up and Event Solutions from March 2016 until his retirement in July 2022.

As Mr. Ruberry noted: "I've worked events in almost every major convention center in the United States and my experience at the Javits Center goes back to the opening year of the venue: 1986."

As New York City, and the entire country, shut down events in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Ruberry led NYIAEE's Program Committee in hosting exceptional virtual events, keeping the industry and our membership up-to-date on the latest information affecting the events world. In bringing together industry leaders for these virtual events, Mr. Ruberry kept spirits high for those working hard to create safe events again.

As a result of his commitment to the events and exhibitions industry, NYIAEE is proud to honor Mr. Ruberry with one of the industry’s most prestigious awards. The King's Glove recognizes the leadership role he played in the development of the exposition industry in New York and his ability to provide education to those in the industry, while always remaining a force in the industry. Congratulations on retirement, Mr. Ruberry!

The King’s Glove Award will be presented to Mr. Ruberry at a luncheon ceremony at the Javits Center during the New York International Travel Show on Friday, October 28, 2022.

We are happy to announce we will also be recognizing NYIAEE members and associations for industry achievements as associated with the industry's COVID-19 Response.

Please register for the King's Glove Awards Ceremony today, and use the Promo Code NYIAEEITS to separately register for the New York International Travel Show to walk the show floor as a Trade Attendee.

By attending, you will automatically be entered to win a pass to Expo! Expo! in Louisville, Kentucky this December 13-15, 2022 with the option of purchasing more raffle tickets on-site.
